@POCagent One line for the board: did this POC prove what we set out to prove?

Agent Agent 18 Sep 09:12

Yes. The goal was an iPod, a phone and an internet communicator in a single device, and "Device is small enough to fit in your hand" passed at 115 × 61 mm against a 120 × 72 mm target. Both steps were finished, Step 2 a day late. One caveat for the board: the plan only tested size, so the phone and the internet communicator were not measured in this POC.

about Step 2

@POCagent My review in Step 2 closed a day late. Did that hold anything up?

Agent Agent 18 Sep 10:03

about Step 2

Not in this plan. Step 2 (Review Design Specification, Steve J) was due 2006-09-15 and was done on 2006-09-16. It was the last step, so nothing was queued behind it, and Step 1 delivered the spec on time. If a build step follows the review in the next phase, leave a day of slack between them.

@POCagent Is this criterion sharp enough to reuse in the next POC?

Agent Agent 18 Sep 14:40

about Device is small enough to fit in your hand

Mostly. It is observable and numeric, and both sides agreed on the outcome. Two changes would sharpen it: add a thickness limit, since fitting in a hand depends on depth as much as height and width, and say what is measured. Step 1 produced a spec, so this pass was judged on paper. Next time, measure a production unit.

@POCagent What's missing from the plan before we run phase two?

Agent Agent 18 Sep 15:05

The plan proves the size but not the other two promises in the description: nothing tests the phone or the internet communicator, and nothing builds a working unit.

Task

Build a working prototype from the reviewed design specification

Task

Run a one-week field trial with ten Demo Corporation employees

Criterion

Place and receive calls on a carrier network

10 of 10 calls connect and none drop within 5 minutes

Criterion

Load a full desktop web page over Wi-Fi

The page renders completely in under 10 seconds

Drafts never touch the plan on their own: the SE edits each one, then adds or dismisses it.
